Rizél De’Lano (RDL) is curious about how things work in getting to understand life and all its constituencies, which means, she has a vast interest in various topics and over the years, has investigated philosophy, mythology, history, society, human behaviour, marketing psychology, health, wellbeing, science, biology,  business strategy, leadership, communications, direct sales, marketing, public relations, image, reputation, branding, journalism, publishing, producing, product development, and content direction.

In tandem with being an investigative journalist, with access to many corporates due to doing leadership interviews for Leadership Magazine in SA, Rizél De’Lano (RDL) has been a consultant for the past 25 years in business development, leadership, brand management, public relations and content directing- and acted as project manager in communications, direct sales – delivering exceptional service, providing transparent solutions, and focussing on building long term relationships.

With an avid interest in Luxury Brands, the management thereof, and the consumer psychology behind why people buy luxury goods, RDL has for the past five years studied the Luxury industry intensively, and compiled a dataset of all luxury brands in every industry across the globe.

RDL studied their business models, operations and practises, gaining direct insights from executive teams, university professors and tutors, advisors and authors in sectors: business and executive services, architectural and interior design, property development, real estate, travel, tourism, hospitality, motoring, aviation, health, longevity, wellbeing, gemstones, precious metals, watches, fashion, beauty, private wealth, art, collectables, beverage, concierge, entity, city, place and nations.

Obviously content production is a vital part of a business communications activities and in journalism.

Content development thus comes naturally for RDL due to many work done for previous clients, corporations, agencies, and media houses. Content includes all types of written text, videography, photography, audio, illustrations, basically everything audiences can consume through using all their senses.

Over the past 30 years as investigative journalist, RDL has grown in tandem with rapidly changing times to stay relevant in various sectors of the economy, gained much experience and competence in various subjects, and is now positioned as an authority on many subjects and industries.

RDL works with a strong code of morals, ethics and professional integrity, honesty and objectivity, which is the main reason why she works totally independent from any agency or publisher to bring you clear, easily understood, accurate, credible, reliable and trustworthy information, in various sectors of the economy.

In investigating topics, RDL adheres to strict codes, principles and policies that include clinical and applied research using the scientific method, deep-dive interviews, and collaborative assessments by advisors, experts and achievers – because before any credible information can be published, full and integral understanding needs to be reached.

RDL is a critical thinker with well-developed skills of: close observation, analysis, scrutinising facts, interpreting big data, reflection, evaluation, inference, drawing reasonable conclusions from the information, discriminating between useful and less useful details, and making reasoned judgments on findings, and explaining information objectively.

Apart from making good conversation and debating on many topics, RDL quickly sorts through the clutter and finds the best routes and outcomes with strategic thought. Being strategic is not a skill that can be taught. It’s a distinct way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large, which is what makes RDL such a diverse writer and author with written works in various genres, professions and dominions: business, creative, and fiction.

As leadership journalist: RDL interviewed some of the best C-Level leaders, achievers and successful entrepreneurs, learning about their strategies for achieving thought leadership, personal success, and discovering how they led their teams to peak performance, how important it is to have an identity, to have clarity, to have the credentials and the habits for creating a meaningful and valuable personal brand.

As a writer and journalist, RDL read more than 900 books on personal development, business, achievement, success and then converted that into practical steps in the form of articles, reports, whitepapers and ebooks for corporate clients.

RDL reviewed more than 300 factual documentaries on history, world issues, social, politics and humanities, and did research into many academic studies on society, and social strata as it played out from 1000s of years ago- interpreting what was observed into possible actions or solutions for various organisations and used in fiction books.

RDL takes her own wellbeing very seriously – so it was natural to develop a vast interest in this globally growing lucrative sector – RDL advises individuals, on how to incorporate healthy and longevity practices into their lifestyle – see RDL’s wellbeing section.

As part of Wellbeing in Space – RDL advises on home and office renewal and renovations for optimised wellbeing and best use of space, fittings, furnishings and decor – using high-end, long-lasting quality brands. Having spaces dedicated to you, connecting to the deepest parts of who you are is so important. Because…

Nowhere else is a sense of belonging more satisfying than within your own home, and spaces, because it’s where you can be yourself.

As a single-mother RDL has gone through many personal upheavals, challenges, triumphs, emotional fluctuations, marriages, divorces, betrayals… birthing two children and losing one to a rapid illness that ripped him away without warning, which means RDL has a great understanding of life’s struggles, emotional conflicts, and how to rise from adversity to a place of harmony, peace and happiness.

RDL’s youngest son Lorenzo Delano is an instructional designer and education advisor focusing on the applied science (and philosophy) of personal transformation. He specialises in designing education blueprints (learning experience maps) for independent teachers and/or education institutes as the universal structure for their curriculum design, marketing, and teaching efforts.

Currently RDL is based between Cape Town and Pretoria South Africa – and enjoys travel, good coffee, chocolate, fine-dining, fine wine, good company, philosophy. Very interested and active in gemstones, design, architecture, textile, the future, smart cities, renewable energy and novel writing.

As an essential part of her creating processes, Rizél values sitting in a very comfortable chair, admiring the open landscapes through the wide window, drinking coffee or fine wine next to a crackling fire… thinking…

And converse with like minded people about what they’ve learned about life, business, love, world issues, the next great extinction, the future, and where evolution and Elon Musk will eventually take humanity, if anywhere at all 🙂
