Layout

Layout means the way things are arranged or organised within a space. 

In design, or architecture, it describes where different parts are placed and how they relate to each other.

For example, how rooms connect, where corridors go, and how people flow through the structure.

A good layout usually considers:

  • Movement, how people walk through the space
  • Function, what each area is meant to be used for
  • Comfort, how the space feels to be in
  • Efficiency, avoiding wasted or awkward space
