What man can be he must be…
“What a man can be, he must be. This need we may call self-actualization.”
It refers to the desire for self-fulfilment, namely, to the tendency for him to become actualized in what he is potentially.
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, he put on its highest achievement in life – the concept of self-actualisation: What man CAN be, he MUST be.
Maslow pointed out that human beings have basic needs such as breathing, shelter, water and food which needed to be fulfilled before you could move on to slightly higher needs such as safety, security, love and self-esteem.
And at the very pinnacle of this pyramid of human potential is self-actualisation, which means, be everything you potentially can be. Maslow saw self-actualisation as the highest degree of development for any person.
This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.”
It is about utilising abilities and talents to fullest in areas person choses
You cannot self-actualise if you are not clear of what you want. The biggest reason why people don’t get what they want is because they are not clear, they sometimes have opposing goals and they do not have a well-formed plan.
So if you do not know what you want, maybe you have a vision of what you want your ultimate lifestyle to be?
What is your Ultimate Lifestyle?
The ultimate lifestyle is different for different people… deciding what it would be with no rules or formulas…
For some people, it means a lot of money with luxury belongings and a fast-paced, jet-set type of lifestyle.
For others, it means – slow-paced and focusing on service to spouse, children, family and a boss…
For a selected few it means freedom to travel, work, play and live anywhere they want, no matter the style – maybe a home in every town…
And for others it could be every possible scenario in between …
There’s no right or wrong – or good or bad – there’s just what works for you – and will likely change many times over as your life evolves… No matter how you end up defining Ultimate Lifestyle for yourself…
Mckinsey Published this diagram in 2021…
But actually, there are 8 vital components to consider when wanting to design a better life…
Concept of Self (finally address the issues of who am I, what’s my purpose, my values, what do I believe in…)
Beliefs and Emotional Blocks (getting rid of blocks, issues or beliefs that prevent you from living the life you want or enjoying it)
Environmental (Spaces) Influences (having a home and work base that nourishes at a very deep level)
Beauty + Health as in Nutrition, Movement and Wellbeing (eliminate health problems that drag your quality of life into the gutter)
Career and Skills Development (having access to resources and inner skills that allow you to optimally perform at your career)
Building Income Streams (having systems in place that allow you to use your income streams to create financial freedom + wealth )
Investments + Saving + Wealth Building Management ( manage it, grow it, protect it)
Love + Relationships (attract, build, and maintain healthy relationships with everyone you meet and your loved ones)
Connection with spirit
Quality of life also means to manage your time effectively…
You can have several income streams, a healthy emotional life, empowering belief systems, a great living environment, fulfilment and satisfaction, great relationships and health…. but if you don’t manage your time to address all of it and time left to do what you love… to follow your non-work passions, or to truly enjoy anything, what’s the point?
Having all the resources and support
Living The Ultimate Lifestyle means having access to knowledge, resources, and skills that allow you to live the life you want and need.
Do you have it?
